The document is more than three (3) years past its expiry date.

The document has been expired for three years past its printed expiry date.

Report to the dev team if you find this as this should be filtered out.

The document has been superseded by a later issued document.

The document is not the latest issued document (this includes documents that are still within their expiry period but have been superseded).

The document has been reported lost/stolen

The document has been reported lost/stolen and is no longer valid for verification.

The document is a provisional travel document; its status means that it is not valid for travel or is in transit

The document is not considered valid for verification for one of the listed reasons.

Note: a provisional travel document is not printed in booklet format.

System availability error

The DVS request cannot be processed due to a system availability issue at the Hub or Issuer.

The red box will say call Scantek Support for more information. Offer to re-run DVS manually or refund transaction.

Passport International (VISA check)

  • Travel document not found.

This means the person does not have a valid VISA with that passport. This could be for a number of reasons including:

  • They are now a citizen, so they do not have a VISA they are a citizen,
  • their VISA or passport has been cancelled or expired.
The client should check with the subject if there is anything impacting their VISA status in Australia.

Drivers Licence

  • Document Invalid.
    • The Licence has a status of ‘Cancelled’, ‘Inactive’ or ‘Refused’ OR The Licence holder is deceased.
  • X does not match.
    • Check the details match, X are all the different parameters of the ID including surname.
  1. Check ALL the card details match, name dob ect. If this is correct, then the card they have used may not be the most recently issued card.
  2. Confirm this is the most recently issued card. If confirmed the subject has not ordered a replacement card this will have to be escalated to developer to escalate to DVS.

Citizenship Certificates

Check the Transaction data to find the dvs_result letter, then compare.

The certificate holder is deceased.

Records are updated when the Department is notified.

The citizenship milestone is not been acquired

The individual never attended the ceremony or has had their citizenship status revoked.

The citizenship certificate is no longer valid *(only applies to citizenship certificates and is not returned for Descent Extracts).

The certificate has been voided, because it is recorded as lost/stolen. A ‘D’ result will only be returned where the stock number or evidence number has been provided.

If a Citizenship Automated System (CAS) number is provided and any events (previously issued certificates) recorded against the client are voided a D result will be returned.

A later issued card exists that is valid for verification.

A card may be superseded when a customer transfers to a new card, customers have been added to an existing card number or there has been an update to customer details i.e. change of name.

The card is expired

The expiry date of the card is in the past. If you ever get this one, please report to Dev team as this should be picked up.

The card has been recorded as fraudulent.

The card has been flagged as fraudulent and will not verify.

The individual is not entitled to benefits.

The individuals entitlement has been ceased due to visa or residence eligibility.

Only applicable to Blue and Yellow cards.

The card holder is deceased.

Records are updated with deceased information from the Fact of Death file daily or when the Department is notified.

The card has been cancelled, stopped or ceased by an administrative function.

The card was issued in error or is damaged and has been ceased in the system.

The customer is no longer associated with the card details provided.

The customer has moved cards and is now associated with a different card number i.e. children receiving their own cards, partners separating etc.

The customer has an intertwined status.

Two customer records may be incorrectly linked to one another and therefore neither card will verify until the discrepancy is corrected.

Records are periodically updated with information on deceased individuals.

The certificate has been recorded as lost/stolen or void.

Certificates issued with a certificate number can be recorded as lost/stolen.

The name supplied is not the latest name (ACT, NT only)

The certificate holder has had a subsequent change of name and the name details provided in the request do not match the latest recorded name.

They may have a change of name certificate.

The certificate is not the latest issued certificate.

The certificate holder has had a subsequent certificate issued and the details provided in the request do not match the latest recorded certificate details.

The details supplied are not the latest known details. (QLD only)

The certificate holder has had a change to their record and the details provided in the request do not match the latest known details.

They may have a change of name certificate.

The certificate number has not been supplied (private sector only) (SA Only)

The certificate was issued after 1/11/1999 and does not contain a certificate number in the request.

This is a specific rule applicable to private sector users only.

Family Tax Benefit concession entitlement only.

FTB is the only payment received.

TIP

If any of these specifications are updated in the future, you will find them at IMS > 7 - Operations > Platform Development > DVS.

 

Data breach error

This is a 'D' result.

The document has been cancelled; in light of the Optus/Medibank data breach this has become the most common reason.

The client will have to contact the subject requesting an explanation as to why they have used a cancelled document. They can request more documents using the supplementary documents feature.
